Heard 'Round The Dinner Table...

Youngest's latest creation...

Close up of right lower hand corner...
The dinner table was strewn with home work last night.  Among the books and papers were completed assignments and some art projects.

Oldest: "What's this?"

Youngest: "It's my drawing of a unicorn. But it didn't come out so good, so I won't be drawing any more."

Oldest: "Good. Because unicorns are for girls."

Youngest: "WHAT?!?! This unicorn shoots rainbows from it's horn, flies at lightning speed, and farts flames."

*giggles* Me: "No fairy dusted boogers?"

Youngest: "No. No fairy dust. Just laser rainbows."

Oldest: "Yeah. Fairy dust is for girls."

13 Survival Tips:

  1. Farts flames, lol?

Unicorn mama must have been a floozy and done it with a dragon.

  2. It amazes me how children think/create. I adore listening to the kids tell me made up stories. I mean honestly, who thinks of these things? hahaha. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I think I would like to be in his world.

  4. My dog farts flames.

I think you should encourage him to draw MORE unicorns. Love his imagination.
Laser Rainbows is my personal favorite.

  5. Yeah, the farts flames had me giggling...cause I'm immature like that.
Bumper Cat puts some serious fart flames out there.

  6. Is that a fart flame emanating from him in the picture? Wait, maybe it's the tail.

  7. BwaHa! I know my boys would love to spot a flame farting unicorn!

  9. It wouldn't be a boy conversation if there wasn't mention of farts!

  10. Alas, to understand boys and the difference between manly laser rainbows and girly fairy dusted boogers...if only.

  11. Dear Julianna, Thank you for commenting on my Tuesday posting about the convent. I'm glad your great aunt is sharing her stories. I bet many, if not most, of them are a worth a belly laugh. That's how I feel about many of my convent stories.

And thank you, too, for sharing this unicorn conversation and art. It's sad to me that we have such imaginations of young children and gradually all sorts of influences quench that in us. I'm glad you treasure these stories and the Youngest's imagination.

    Peace.

  12. Hahaha. I have known some of my own children to fart flames. But laser rainbows is pretty over the top. Such imagination! I love it.
